Possible Merging[]

Doesn't this seem to have a better place in the races section of the Hyrule page? -- կրակ (խոսել) -- 03:29, 3 May 2010 (UTC)

Yes, but perhaps instead this page can act as a disambiguation page, one that not only gives the description of the races encapsulated by the title "Hyrulean", but gives their links as well, like a proper disambig should. For example, look at this page to to see what I'm talking about. — ciprianotalk 04:27, 3 May 2010 (UTC)
I second this notion. -- կրակ (խոսել) -- 07:53, 3 May 2010 (UTC)
I'd like to see more opinions before merging. Bump! — ciprianotalk 11:13, 10 January 2012 (EST)
I'd rather see this article beefed up with information from the Hyrule page than turned into a disambiguation. I am all for a merge of the information into this article. A small blurb with a {{Main}} pointing here could be left under the Races header on the Hyrule page, but this page is a more logical candidate for the races to be listed and described, in my opinion. If I understand the above discussion correctly, this is suggesting a disambig which provides links to the various races that are known to inhabit Hyrule. Considering that Hyrulean is a nationality, not a species or race, I think that needs to be fine-tuned. The disambig should make it clear that those tribes are not limited to Hyrule, and it should probably include links to the various groups within Hyrule, like the Sages, Knights, or Royal Family. Basically, a full demographics disambig.KrytenKoro 13:23, 10 January 2012 (EST)
Both ideas presented by Embyr and Kryten are awesome - I'm now leaning towards a demographical disamibguation, though. While describing the races would be cool, the races themselves already have large pages of their own that present far more detail than a page like this would. It is somewhat the best of both worlds - disambigs do give a small tidbit of what the races are about, just enough to entice the reader to go to the more detailed pages, and this page would be a nice conglomeration of everything on the Hyrulean continent. — ciprianotalk 15:40, 10 January 2012 (EST)

Spelling?[]

Someone recently brought to my attention that "Hyrulean" was a fan-made name, so I did a little digging. I can't find any mention of the word "Hyrulean" in the text dumps I've scanned, but I have seen the word "Hyrulian" used in Twilight Princess and The Wind Waker (to individuals and legends, and a royal family, respectively). Does anyone have a canonical source for the spelling currently being used? If not, I vote for a move. Embyr 75  --Talk-- 12:51, 10 January 2012 (EST)

I haven't verified whether or not "Hyrulean" can be found in game text dumps, but the term has been used in canon contexts (such as here), so it is valid and not fan-made. For that reason, I am removing the merge template. - TonyT S C 07:50, 18 April 2016 (UTC)

Monsters?[]

While some monsters are obviously fauna like Octoroks and Keese, and others are undead beings like Stalfos and Gidos, would monsters that have been seen to have some form of culture and live in Hyrule like the Blin Family, Lizal, and River Zoras be considered Hyrulean? Gopherdude12 (talk) 14:34, 3 December 2016 (UTC)

Seeing as demonyms are only applied to people and not animals (which the majority of monsters are based on), I don't think they should be included. There are far, far too many monsters that have appeared in Hyrule-centric games, so it would be far too overbearing to include them all. - Midoro (T C) 17:14, 3 December 2016 (UTC)
