Forest Fireflies are items in The Wind Waker.[1] It is a unique species of Firefly.
Location and Uses[]
The Forest Firefly is indigenous to the Forest Haven.[2] It can be caught in an Empty Bottle,[3] and, if brought to the pictographer Lenzo, can be used to alter a Picto Box into a Deluxe Picto Box.[4] It is said to glow in seven different colors.[5] In the Second Quest, this item becomes useless entirely, as the Deluxe Picto Box is already available since the start of the game in this mode.
In The Wind Waker HD, the Forest Firefly is never needed to make the Deluxe Picto Box, and in turn Lenzo will not mention it during Link's training to be his Research Assistant. The Forest Firefly can still be found in Forest Haven however, and captured with an empty bottle. Link can show Lenzo the firefly, and will be told that it was once needed in order to create the Deluxe Picto Box.[6] Lenzo will also reward Link's hard work by accepting the firefly and giving him a Joy Pendant in return.[7]
