The rupee like is basically a smaller Like Like with a rupee attached to a stalk on its head. it hides under this and uses it to lure greedy and unsuspecting travelers. It comes in 3 types; Green rupee, Blue rupee, and Red rupee, which also indicates how many rupees it eats at a time while taking them from Link. It's about 1/3 shorter than a Like Like not counting its stalk, and can only engulf Link up to his neck. It holds Link's head with its stalk.

If it engulfs Link, it will suck his rupees away and continue to do so until he struggles free (by mashing buttons) or runs out of rupees. It's commonly found hiding in a large group of rupees and usually found at a corner or the middle of the formation. The rupee they carry is real and can be claimed among the undigested rupees when the Rupee Like is slain. Rupee Likes will continue to chase down even a completely rupeeless Link and taste the delicious hero. This deals no damage.

Rupee Likes return again in Phantom Hourglass. They act exactly as the did in The Minish Cap, but now they are much larger, now the exact same size as Like Likes. Other than size, the only other difference is escaping them. Now you must rub the Rupee Like with the stylus to set Link free.

A safe way to avoid this voracious fate is to collect free-standing rupees with items such as the Boomerang or Gust Jar.
