To avoid taking damage and progress in the battle, Link must use the reflective pool beneath him (easily done by tilting back the C-Stick to control the camera) to track the spider's movements and position himself in the space behind it as it falls, in order to grant himself a clear shot at its tail. Repeating this process three times will cause the monster to assume its final form. |

Template:Boss Puppet Ganon is a giant puppet controlled by Ganon in The Wind Waker. The battle is a precursor to the main event with the real Ganondorf in Ganon's Tower.
Strategy
First Form: Puppet
The first form of the monster is similar in appearance to Beast Ganon in most of the 2D games, giant and boar-like. He is defeated by cutting his strings with the Boomerang and striking the blue orb on his tail with Light Arrows.
Second Form: Spider
Puppet Ganon will then transform into a spider, possible referencing Gohma as she appears in previous games, which flies up to the top of the room and spins rapidly in circles before crashing back down.
Third Form: Moldorm
The snake form of Puppet Ganon moves randomly around the room, gaining speed and irrationality each time his tail is hit. Due to his speed, scoring a hit can be difficult - attacking his face with the Master Sword, Bombs, or the Skull Hammer will stun him for a few seconds - however, this method requires Link to put himself directly in the puppet's line of fire. The hero can also distract Puppet Ganon with All-Purpose Bait. However, the boss will quickly move toward the bait the moment Link throws it down, often damaging him in the process. A third, lesser-known strategy is to use the Hookshot to reach one of the various platforms at the higher parts of the arena - this keeps Link safe from sustaining damage and can provide a clear shot at the boss.
After defeating the final form of Puppet Ganon, Link is able to climb its central string up to the tower's rooftop for the final confrontation with Ganondorf.
