Coming from the world above the clouds, Link first visits the province when he lands on the Surface in his desperate mission to find his childhood friend, Zelda, who landed there sometime earlier. He lands in the Sealed Grounds, and meets the elderly Impa protecting the Sealed Temple. He then moves on to the next province in his journey, the Eldin Province.

When he completes the challenge, he is given the Water Dragon's Scale, allowing him access to the Great Tree. The Water Dragon known as Faron, the province's protector, had been wounded by an attack from Ghirahim. Link heals her with Sacred Water from Skyview Spring, and in return she parts the waterfall in front of the Ancient Cistern, the dungeon hiding Farore's Flame. After Link defeats the boss, Koloktos, and with his newly powered sword, he proceeds to the next step in his adventure.

*Like the goddess Farore, the Faron Province is associated with wind and flora.
*The name Faron most likely comes from the name of one of the Goddesses, Farore. Curiously, the large Hylian text on the map translates to "faronc", appearing to be a simple mistranslation.

  +
*Because several other titles take place between Skyward Sword and Twilight Princess but lack the province system, it is unknown whether the system fell into disuse and returned, or simply was not referenced. Because Skyward Sword is the first game since Twilight Princess to take place in this version of Hyrule, it may be a case of retcon and the provinces have always been named.
*Interestingly enough, as the Hylian symbol for the letter "C" is but one stroke away from the Hylian symbol for "E", the word on the map potentially spells out "Farone". This is one letter away from "Farore", and "Farone" also happens to be the spanish version of her name.

*The south/southeast location of the Faron Province and its associated forested areas collides with the locations of the Kokiri Forest, the Lost Woods and the Minish Woods, implying that all are apart of the province and suburbs or neighbouring forests of the Faron Woods.

Template:Place Template:Sources Faron Province is part of the province system used for Hyrule in Twilight Princess and Skyward Sword. The province is named after its original protector, the great Water Dragon known as Faron, from the Era of the Goddess Hylia and the Sky Era. It is later protected by the Light Spirit of the same name during the Era of Twilight.[1][2]

A large majority of the province is made up of the Faron Woods and other forested areas. It houses a number of ruins, including several ancient temples that have become overgrown by nature, and also at least two sacred springs.

The elder Kikwi, Yerbal, is found at the top of the Great Tree and sends Link to the other main part of Faron Province, Lake Floria, to meet with the province's protector.
