When equipped and directed, the cane fires an energy beam that flips any object in its path. It can flip vases, platforms, minecarts, some enemies,<ref>{{cite manual|quote= Press the item button to fire a bolt from the Cane of Pacci. The bolt flips whatever it hits.|game = TMC|page = 17}}</ref> and blue-white pots that reveal Minish portals where Link can become Minish-sized, and vice versa. When fired at a ground hole, it energizes the hole to act like a trampoline: it shoots Link into the air upon falling in. In obtaining the cane, Link will be able to traverse previously inaccessible areas through the energizing and trampoline-like nature of these charged holes.
