[[Link]] engages in horseback combat with [[King Bulblin]] once along this bridge, when he is rescuing [[Colin]] from his sudden kidnapping). After Link clears the [[Goron Mines]] and goes past this bridge, looking for [[Lanayru Province|the next province]], a significant portion of the bridge is removed by [[Zant]]'s [[Shadow Beasts]], thus blocking the path. When Link defeats them, a portal is created, but it's still useless because of the bridge's removal. Link eventually finds what appears to be the removed section of the Bridge of Eldin in the western part of the [[Gerudo Mesa]]. With the aid of [[Midna]], Link warps back to the area where the bridge of Eldin was removed. The [[portal]] that they must exit through will not appear until Link defeats the [[Shadow Beasts]] that removed the Bridge, located on the side opposite of Hyrule Field. Once they warp there, Midna will place the section back where it belongs, allowing Link to cross the bridge again. When Link and Midna choose to return to the Gerudo Mesa, they will discover a cave that was originally sealed off by the bridge section.
