Template:Enemy Anti-Kirbies are enemies appearing in Eagle's Tower of Link's Awakening.

Characteristics and Weaknesses

Anti-Kirbies are based on Nintendo's puffball hero, Kirby. Like the real Kirby, Anti-Kirbies are able to inhale almost anything. If they suck Link up, they will spit him out again and cause damage. Anti-Kirbies are nearly indestructible, and can only be harmed by Bombs, the Boomerang, or the Magic Rod, but when Link first encounters these enemies, the young hero won't have the Magic Rod yet. They are uncommon, and only appear on the first floor of the dungeon. Unusually, Anti-Kirby will cause more damage simply by coming into contact with Link than he will by swallowing him.

Trivia

  • While these enemies are referred to as Anti-Kirby and described as "Kirby's evil twin" in the American Nintendo Player's Guide for the game,[1] they are simply known as Kirby in Japan.
  • Kirby's Adventure, in which Kirby first gained the ability to get Copy Abilities from enemies (such as the Link-inspired Sword Kirby) was released only three months prior to Link's Awakening, which may explain why Anti-Kirby does not steal Link's abilities.
  • This is one of the few enemies that wasn't reused for the Oracle series.
