Yeto (ドサンコフ, Dosankofu) is a yeti who lives in Snowpeak Ruins in the Peak Province in Twilight Princess. He lives there with his wife, Yeta, who owns a shard of the Mirror of Twilight. As Yeta has grown ill, he is preparing a soup for her during Link's adventures in Snowpeak Ruins. He needs reekfish to make his soup that will heal Yeta, and as such had been seen by Lake Hylia attempting to catch one. This made the inhabitants of the Zora River suspicious as to what exactly was happening on Snowpeak Mountain.

He does not speak very fluent Hylian, probably because he is always away from everybody else. Yeto speaks like a child at times, only with a much lower, and bigger voice. His sentences are short, and often include "uh".

After beating the Snowpeak Ruin boss, Yeto and Yeta will hug each other and recovery hearts will pop out of them. This is the only time recovery hearts appear in the dungeon.

Yeto, who is virtually unaware of stray food in his home, can (along with his wife) be challenged to a Snowboard Race to the Snowpeak Ruins after completing the dungeon. Beating the couple can result in a Piece of Heart, and increased finances.

During the end credits Snowpeak ruins is shown and a single recovery heart pops out of the house, infering that Yeto and Yeta live happily for the rest of their days.

Trivia

  • For some reason, he wears a horse's saddle as a hat.
  • If you approach Yeto in your Wolf Form after completing Snowpeak ruins, Yeto will be interested in eating you[1], but Yeta objects saying meat in the morning is no good[1]. If you approach him before completing the dungeon he will say that he must eat you sometime[1].
