This wooden statue is a statue Ilia was given as a child. After you give the Hyrule Castle Town doctor Telma's Invoice, he tells you she had a statue but the idol was then stolen. Transform into a wolf and pick up the scent of the medicine behind a block. Follow the scent to Telma's cat, Louise. She will admit that it was she that took the statue from the doctor. However, Louise will then tell you that a gang of "tough" Stalhounds on the south side of town stole it.

Defeating the Stalhound gives you the statue. Now you must return to Kakariko Village and show the wooden statue to Ilia. She will then regain some, but not all, of her memory. She will remember that the person who rescued her is still is danger. The Gorons will take notice of the statue's design and offer to help because they know where it came from. Follow your map to the northwest portion of Hyrule field to meet with Darbus inside a cave. Using his might, he’ll burst through the boulder blocking the away, permitting access to the Hidden Village. As a reward, you receive the Horse Call.
