A long time ago, in a forum not so far away, the ZU Chapel was created so that sad people with no romantic life could "marry" other forumgoers. The chapel had huge success as a large spam thread, and was finally closed and deleted. It will never be brought back.
The legacy of the weddings still lives on, however, with some of the older members still displaying the "Married to" text in their signatures, which has prompted many of the new members to follow suit again with the ZU marriages. It is commonly believed that many of these newbies are doing it because they believe they'll be accepted more into the community, when in fact a lot of the vets think the whole deal is insanely ridiculous.
A very small number of the couples, however, were very serious about their "ZU Marriages". Even smaller of a number became actual couples, falling in love and meeting in real life.
