Zora Link Art[]

Hey there.

I just have a little question about this file you uploaded a couple months ago. You seem adamant about the fact that it's official artwork. Could you please tell us where exactly you got it from? It doesn't look official to me, and I'm not the only one who thinks so (hence why Pakkun tagged it as fan art).

Thanks! — Hylian King [*] 08:05, 17 December 2011 (EST)

I'm pretty sure the piece came from here. If you click on one of the links above it, you'll be taken to this page, which says (loose translation):
"May 20, 2006: And this is the complete illustration. This project took longer than expected. Separate pages for each illustrations have been made, along with a commentary on each. Click on one of the characters to be taken to their description page. By the way, during the Majora's Mask project [...had a hard time translating the rest]"
That pretty much confirms that it's fan art. However, I welcome your thoughts on it. — Abdullah [T] [C] [S]  14:11, 17 December 2011 (EST)

Volvagia[]

Hello, in regards our disagreement on the Volvagia page, the only instance it is referred to as a "he" is by the Goron Link, which is corrected in Ocarina of Time 3D, where he calls it an "it" as well. Because of this, the staff have decided to refer to Volvagia as an "it", given that it is referred so in the majority of cases. - TonyT S C 07:09, 6 February 2012 (EST)

Zelda in MM?[]

I have to say I've never heard of this cheat you mentioned here before. Would you mind telling me what the code is? I'm curious. — Hylian King [*] 19:01, 25 March 2012 (EDT)

"Okay. It's a Cheat Code we can use on Project64. By activating it, Princess Zelda will appear in Clock Town. You can see it here. I made a screenshot then extracted Princess Zelda's model from it. It was hard to do it. I can't believe I made a screenshot when it was the Third Day. I believe you know about Project64, right?"--Prince Ludwig 19:07, 25 March 2012 (EDT)
I see. So I suppose Zelda's model is actually in the game's code. Makes sense, since OOT and MM use a lot of the same stuff. However, Zelda still doesn't technically appear in the game itself as anything but a black and white memory. I think your findings belong on the Beta Content page more than anywhere else. Especially since beta stuff is considered non-canon. Still, nice find!
Also, if you look closely here and here, you can see that Link and Zelda are about the same height in both Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask. If anything, Zelda is the one who is a little taller.
By the way, I brought your post here because we usually keep discussions on a single talk page, I hope you don't mind. It makes conversations easier to keep track of. If you post a reply to this message on this page I promise I'll see the message just fine. — Hylian King [*] 20:21, 25 March 2012 (EDT)
Come to think of it, that model could be what they use during the flashback scene (after grayscaling everything, of course). It might not be beta content at all. But it's still a cool cheat =D — Hylian King [*] 21:25, 25 March 2012 (EDT)

Game Linking[]

Hey there,

I noticed you've been having trouble correctly linking to game articles as stated in our policy. I thought I'd let you that we have shortcuts for that. For example, if you type {{subst:OOT}}, it automatically generates Ocarina of Time, which saves you the trouble of typing it all out. So now you know :) — Hylian King [*] 18:38, 20 June 2012 (EDT)

Multiple edits[]

Hello! I noticed you've been making a lot of edits to the same page over a short time. Doing this puts a large strain on our server and clogs up the recent changes. So instead of saving a lot, use the "show preview" button next to the "save page" button. It'll allow you to view your edit for any mistakes so you don't have to make a lot of fixing edits or additional ones! :) --Dany36 22:19, 8 August 2012 (EDT)

File sourcing[]

Hey, dude. Just wanted to drop by in regards to your recent upload here. I assume you found that image on Zeldapedia (see here), and just wanted to ask that you please source your images properly, especially when using images from competing wikis. That's just proper etiquette, especially considering that someone had to take the time to find it, touch it up, and upload it. Just remember to always source your uploads if you found them somewhere.Justin(Talk) 00:56, 28 February 2013 (UTC)

I did find that image on Zeldapedia. As long as its official,[1] I thought it was okay.--Prince Ludwig 13:05, 28 February 2013 (UTC)
It may be official, but we still like to recognize the efforts of those who took the time to actually acquire the images, either from rips, scans, etc. If you can find the official source of the image, then you should link to that, but it should otherwise be sourced to give credit to the person who took the time to get the image.
PS: Please keep conversations on the same talk page. It makes for an easier read when archiving, and whenever I post a message on someone's talk page, I add the page to my watchlist so I can easily keep track of it and check for a reply.Justin(Talk) 16:31, 28 February 2013 (UTC)

Copying content[]

Hey, me again.

So I noticed that a chunk of this edit was copied from Wikipedia. Since we pride ourselves on having purely original content at Zelda Wiki, as stated in our Quality Standards, we really have to insist that users refrain from copying content from other sites. Unfortunately, all the copied content in the edit will have to be removed.

Even though you've been around for a while, I'm going to assume you just weren't aware of the rule. However, now that you've been informed, please keep in mind that further attempts of plagiarism will not be tolerated.

Thank you for your cooperation. — Hylian King [*] 22:51, 7 March 2013 (UTC)

Thanks![]

Hey, Prince Ludwig! Just dropping by to thank you for your recent work on adding the FileInfo template to our images, as well as categorizing them according to their type. This type of work can be tedious and repetitive, so we really appreciate you helping out in that aspect of the wiki. :) Keep up the great work! Happy editing! --Dany36 00:56, 10 March 2013 (UTC)

Anytime Dany. :) --Prince Ludwig 02:17, 10 March 2013 (UTC)
Great job with the uploads, too! :) — Hylian King [*] 20:59, 11 April 2013 (UTC)

Mega Cheep-Cheep[]

I have the Japanese guide and it makes no distinction in name for the Cheep-Cheeps, just so you know. I don't think they're named in the English guide either. There are a number of enemies in FSA that have nameless "big" versions, such as Stalfos, Armos, Terrorpins etc., so the fact that there are two sizes of Cheep-Cheep isn't really any different from that. Also, since the name wasn't used in Mario games until AFTER FSA we cannot claim they're the same enemy at all. It's just a big Cheep-Cheep. Aside from all that, we use the official Zelda names here, not names from the Mario games, which is why the Spiked Beetle is not known as Spiny, for example. Image source[]

Hey, could you tell me exactly where you found this image on Zelda Europe? I haven't been able to spot it in the TWW gallery. - TonyT S C 02:17, 18 May 2013 (UTC)

I ripped it from one of The Wind Waker's wallpapers which was found in Zelda Europe. Have I wrongly done the Summary of the artwork? ._.--Prince Ludwig 02:48, 18 May 2013 (UTC)
No, not at all. I was just thinking I could give it a more specific link (to the actual page itself), so I was confused when I checked the artwork gallery. :P
Thanks for answering, though. - TonyT S C 05:29, 18 May 2013 (UTC)

Fanon in a Link Between Worlds[]

Hey dude, I noticed you've been spreading a bit of misinformation or perceived canon in A Link Between Worlds pages. Examples would be the "Lorulean" race you made a category for, calling Yuga a Gerudo and adding him to both the Gerudo and the Lorulean category, assigning "counterparts" to characters and so forth. Until you actually provide any sort of source for any of this I'm going to reverse all of those changes. Dekler (talk) 14:43, 26 November 2013 (UTC)

Edit warring[]

This is ridiculous. Cut it out. If you disagree, argue your position in on the talk page. Please don't make another edit to the Rosso page. Of course, I'm not an admin, so I can't stop you, but I'm sure they don't think too fondly of edit warring, either. Champion of Nayru (talk) 23:02, 12 March 2014 (UTC)
