European Names

Hi Korenji,

Thank you for your contributions to the wiki so far! I've just been wondering, for the Oracle of Ages/Seasons names, what version of the game are you getting them from? Is it the 3DS version, or the original Gameboy Color one? I'm asking because some of the names you replaced are from text dumps and should have been correct. Actually I got the names directly from the European GBC version. I didn't consult any text dumps. Korenji (talk)

That's odd. Because some of the names you're entering are different than the text dump, which is almost always highly reliable and accurate since it's ripped straight from the game's code.

In any case, please be sure to add the names exactly how they are written in the game, grammatical errors and all. I don't mean to accuse you of anything. It's just my job to make sure everything that goes onto the wiki is 100% accurate. :) — Hylian King ^[*] 13:20, 24 August 2014 (UTC)

It's just what I did, indeed. I changed the language every time I wanted to check the names in the other languages. Don't worry about that, I didn't feel accused. :)

None of them are expressly wrong. I'm just wondering why some of them are different from what's on the text dump.

Also, when adding the template, would you mind copy-pasting the full code, rather than only the names you plan to add? You can copy-paste it from here. This makes it easier for more translations to be added later.

Italian names

Hey, I've noticed that you added some Italian names regarding MM subjects. I just wanted to ask where exactly the names originate from, because as far as we are aware, Majora's Mask was never localized in Italian. The game boxes were translated, but not the actual game itself. The names section and translation pages are really only intended for official localized names, and not direct translations (we've had this problem with Portuguese before). It's likely MM3D will have an official Italian localization however, so it might be better to wait then. - Midoro ^{(T C)} 18:51, 5 February 2015 (UTC)

Those names were from the official MM3D's website and the official Zelda Facebook page. I pointed out if they were different from the names showed in pre-release screenshots. Korenji (talk) 18:41, 14 March 2015 (UTC)

Alright that's fine. Also since you've added a couple more, don't forget to also mark these sort of additions with {{Exp Game|MM3D}}, since there was no official Italian translation (besides boxart) of the original MM, so it's good to be more specific here. - Midoro ^{(T C)} 02:41, 27 March 2015 (UTC)

Isn't it pointless? I mean, locations/characters present only in Majora's Mask have no other Italian name. Aren't the game linkings used to point out differences between two or more games? Korenji (talk) 18:23, 27 March 2015 (UTC)
