User talk:AndrewSutty

I don't know where to begin.
Are you Zanramon? Because I have plenty of evidence that says that you are. If so, have you spoken with Jason about this? I'd think that if you had then the Zanramon account would have been unblocked instead of you needing to make another account. —Ando (talk) 21:56, 12 July 2008 (UTC)
who is zanramon—Preceding unsigned comment added by AndrewSutty (talk) 22:31, July 12, 2008 (UTC)
- Zanramon was a user that added a lot of spam to the Chatroom, and was a generally un-constructive user. He was blocked for an extended period of time. He then tried to get around the block by creating another account. Ando seems to think that your edits are similar to his. Although I wouldn't say that after so few edits.—Matt (T C F S) 23:03, July 12, 2008 (UTC)
I still do not know what you are talking about —Preceding unsigned comment added by AndrewSutty (talk) 18:45, 15 July 2008 (UTC)
- Get out. You're Zanramon. I'm only being hostile because I know it's true. —Seablue 01:24, 16 July 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Final Message
Okay, I've been thinking it over, and I'm going to do this because I'm sure enough in my belief that you are, in fact, Zanramon. My rationale?
- Very, very similar writing styles.
-
- AndrewSutty: "how do you upload pictures"
-
-
- "who is zanramon"
- "whatis the difference beetween go & search"
-
-
- Zanramon: "your talk on you sig dosen't link"
-
-
- "yea i was messing with the scripts ill go get rid of it"
- "The reason you put spam and stuff what does that mean"
-
-
- AndrewSutty: "how do you upload pictures"
- Lack of signing messages. "AndrewSutty" has signed I believe one of six or so posts. Zanramon also quite often did not sign his posts.
- The Ordon Woods article. This was edited by you on July 15, 2008. The next edit before that was on December 17, 2007, made by Zanramon. So one edit made by Zanramon, and then the only other edit over half a year later is by his suspected ban-evading account. Coincidence?
- Now, most of this reasoning has been more or less "just suspicions"; however, I believe this piece of evidence to be fairly compelling. I've cited this talk page post before, and it makes its truly major revelation here. Notice the username that Zanramon is posting under? "Sutty08". And if you view this edit to Zanramon's user page, you'll see that an image used to be in his User Character box, called "AndrewSutton.jpg".
- Another piece of evidence is the email I received (but have not felt the need to tell anyone about until now) from an "Andrew Sutty Sutton", clearly using BOTH titles here, in a request to be contacted with MSN Messenger (which I didn't and still do not have). I shall not reveal his MSN name in the interest of privacy, but let me just say that it only furthers my belief that the email was indeed from Zanramon. As a secondary note, the email address was from a ".co.uk" address, and Zanramon is a known resident of England.
I refuse, sir, to believe that this is all coincidence. As a result, I am indefinitely blocking the AndrewSutty account for suspected ban-evasion and lying about doing so. You can wait until the six-month Zanramon block is lifted.
If, however, you just happen to truly not be Zanramon, and can provide me with true, hard evidence that you are not, please feel free to email me. My email's on my user page. —Ando (talk) 14:34, 16 July 2008 (UTC)
That image, what was it? It picture of him, probably. It even states a first and last name, "AndrewSutton" which is probably his name. Excuse this, but it shows that you are an idiot, for trying to evade a ban, and Zanramon is an idiot, for giving away his name. You both are idiots. Case closed. —Seablue 15:24, 16 July 2008 (UTC)
- Giving away your name on the internet isn't always idiocy. :/ Jason has done so, as have you, actually. No need to be so harsh, either. He shouldn't have done it, no, but sitting around calling him an idiot isn't going to make it any better. —Ando (talk) 15:33, 16 July 2008 (UTC)
Well, I didn't give away my LAST name. Anyway, what was that pic? —Seablue 19:33, 16 July 2008 (UTC)
- The pic was never uploaded. He merely put the link to it on his page and then decided against uploading it and removed the link.
Well, Jason and I are known to some extent outside Zelda Wiki.org. Jason has Zelda Universe. Well, there is the reason for him giving his name. Jason's and my last name are both very rare. But I know I've heard Sutton a lot. And Andrew is a very common name, Ando!!!. So all the evidence presented here, although seemingly conclusive, is merely circumstantial and there is a very real possibility that this user is a completely different person from Zanramon. Remember that a lot people have very poor spelling and tend to fail to follow, or read for that matter, simple instructions a the top of the page to use a signature. What we need is real, concrete proof. What we need is the check user extension so that we can compare IP addresses.—Matt (T C F S) 20:06, July 16, 2008 (UTC)

- I agree that there is a possibility that they are not one and the same (as I said at the end of the original message). However, I believe that the evidence is just too "coincidental" to be just that. TWO users of a site that doesn't get THAT many new users, both of whom use very similar writing styles and talk page etiquette, have both used the "Sutty" shortening of "Sutton", having the SAME NAME? That just seems too coincidental to me. If it was JUST writing style, sure, whatever. If it was JUST editing the article right after Zanramon, sure. But ALL of this together? Not so sure, there.
- I would have used the CheckUser extension, but it can't be installed easily. The basic gist of it from Jason was, "It involves an extremely difficult procedure which could easily basically destroy the Wiki if done incorrectly, and on top of that it takes up a lot of time." And we sysops can't do it because (I believe?) we don't have direct access to the database, only to .php files and a few extra folders such as the extensions and styles and such. The CheckUser extension isn't a normal "drag-n-drop" extension like the others. It requires a much more in-depth installation. This is why I didn't wait around for it, otherwise I would have. —Ando (talk) 05:06, 17 July 2008 (UTC)

- Take a look at the instructions. Point 2 is the problem, as many users have pointed out on the talk page. It requires shell access to the webserver in order to access a command prompt to run the relevant .php file, which cannot be done using ftp access. To be honest, I'm not even sure whether Jason is able to do this directly, or if it would require a call to the hosting company who control the server. But if you ignore that, no it's not that hard. Also, this discussion isn't relevant on this user talk page. (P.S sorry if I sound irritated, but your "challenge" caused me to waste a good amount of time in arriving at this conclusion) —Adam [ talk ] 20:12, 22 July 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Further Proof
Okay, I really think it is him know. Zanramon actually used "Sutty" as his nickname once. I found it here. It is a small bit of proof, but the evidence against him is a little stronger now.—Matt (T C F S) 01:46, July 20, 2008 (UTC)
