Template:Plainlink

Purpose

This template is a shortcut to making a link to an exact URL. This useful for links such as editing page links. For example, using this template you can have edit this page instead of having edit this page.

This template is recommended only be used on links to the following items:

• Edit this page
• Page differences
• Old page versions
• Page histories
• Direct links to redirect pages
• Links to another wiki which won't work with a normal interwiki link or that are too difficult for you to remember.

Usage

To use this template type:

    {{Plainlink| Link URL | Link Name }}

Where Link URL is the exact URL to the link and Link Name is the name you would like the link to have.

NOTE: This template has been rendered obsolete by the recent addition of the edit tool box. Because of its examples of what to use a plain link on, this template will stay for the time being. Use of this template is not recommended. It is assumed that this template will be deleted within a week, but not for at least a few days from 02:44 July 15, 2008 (UTC).
