Usage

This template is used to cite spoken in-game text as a reference for a particular statement or assertion (see this page for additional information).
It should be used in-between <ref> </ref> tags:

{{cite|quotation text|person speaking (links to article of that name)|game in which text appears}}

If the in-game text has no character speaking it, type in N/A as the person speaking. It will then not link to an article. If the person speaking is the same as the article's name, then no link will be attempted. However, if the article's name contains a special character, like the apostrophe in Hero's Spirit, then it will still bold the name. The link to the article, Hero's Spirit, has been corrected. Any others will be corrected as needed. Most characters whose article is shared with one or more other characters will link to the correct article instead of redirecting. For citations from generic characters, such as a Goron, the links are corrected to place the letter "A" before it.

If the page referred to by the person speaking option does not exist, then the template will assume that it is a either a very minor character or a description of the specific person and will not make a link.

If the quote does not originate from a game, then leaving the game option blank will remove the game link. If something is put in the game option that does not correspond to any game, then it is assumed to be an external link to the source.

If the game of the quote is a remake of the original and does not have its own page, such as the Game Boy Advance remake of A Link to the Past, then type something indicating so as a forth parameter after the game.

If there is a fix or a link to correct, then contact Mjr162006 for assistance.

Currently Functional Links

This section list the links that will function correctly. To use them, type exactly what is displayed in the link in one of the lists below.

Characters

The following characters will link correctly. They are displayed here exactly as they will be displayed when used. The first one on this list is used for non-character quotes. This is typically used for quoting narration. This option will not make a character link, as shown below. Generic characters will have the letter "A" before the link. For the generic characters, don't type the "A" to use it. Characters that have their own page to themselves, that don't have complex characters in their name, and those that wouldn't be referred by another, shorter name will work and need not be listed here.

Games

The following game links are functional. In addition to typing what is displayed below,you can also type in their abbreviations, shown below them, to use them. The preferred abbreviation is listed first, any other abbreviations that will be listed after the preferred one. If an alternate name will work, it will be listed after the abbreviations.
