There's something fundamentally wrong with this article. The behaviour described in the text does not match the object pictured in the screenshot. Either the text needs changing, or the image needs removing. • Pete | 15:20, 19 November 2009 (UTC)

The eye on the wall seems to be another Eye switch that when shot with an arrow opens a door, until it starts firing lasers at you. I'm wondering if the name is conjectural or official. Axiomist (talk) 17:59, 19 November 2009 (UTC)
Pete, the definition is indeed correct. The problem is that the page only includes a description of the Ocarina of Time eye mimics. They released fire from the eyes. The picture depicts one from A Link to the Past, which fired laser beams instead. ALttP did not feature regular eye switches, either, so technically, they're just sentries. I personally think the picture needs to be replaced with an Ocarina of Time one. However, we should also add a section about ALttP in this article. It should definitely make sure to note that the game didn't have regular eyeball switches, too.
And Axi, it's conjectural. The switches are just known as "switches" in all of the games. I don't think it matters, though, since everyone who's played Zelda will instantly know what you mean by "Eyeball Switch." If you really want to stick the template in, go ahead, but I think it can do without._Neo(U) (T) (C)(Home) 00:50, 20 November 2009 (UTC)
I'd be inclined to go with two separate articles. One for the OOT Eyeball Switch Mimic, and one for the ALttP object depicted in the picture, called Eye Sentry or something. • Pete | 09:15, 20 November 2009 (UTC)
I have a better idea. Why not keep one article, but rename it to Eye Sentry? That will eliminate the confusion. In fact, I'm moving it now. We need to keep this on one page rather than two since it's the same thing, and Switch Mimic is too specific. Be back in a sec._Neo(U) (T) (C)(Home) 20:30, 20 November 2009 (UTC)
Done. Article renamed and reworked. What do you guys think?_Neo(U) (T) (C)(Home) 20:38, 20 November 2009 (UTC)

Yea, it's better. ÇIPRIAɧO 119 talk 20:42, 20 November 2009 (UTC)

[edit] Sentry Eye in ALttP

I want to add the following to the ALttP section, but I'm worried that it is too walkthroughey: The first Sentry Eye that Link encounters is controlling a door. The door closes when the eye is alerted, and opens when the eye is passive. To get through the door, Link must power up his sword and walk backwards through the door so that the eye remains closed. • Pete | 21:50, 20 November 2009 (UTC)

Reword it so that it says something like "Some Sentries only attack when Link looks at them. Therefore, Link must walk backwards by charging up his sword and holding it to avoid these particular sentries." Sound good?_Neo(U) (T) (C)(Home) 21:53, 20 November 2009 (UTC)
