Demise[]

This is the third time I've edited this page and I'm tired of it. Whoever keeps changing this page, explain why Demise, who only shows up for about a sixteenth of the game is a main character. I think I'm missing something here. --Person777 (talk) 15:33, 3 July 2012 (UTC)

I thought we had already settled here that antagonists such as Demise are to be considered main (or major) characters. Ganon is listed as a main character in Twilight Princess. Malladus is listed as a main character in Spirit Tracks. Majora's Mask is also listed as a main character. All of these characters only appear briefly at the very end of the game, but they do have a significant impact on the plot. I understand that you have a different view of what constitutes a "main character", but listing Demise as anything but contradicts precedents already in place on the wiki. If we change one, we have to change all of them, and that is a change that will have to be discussed at Hyrule Castle before it can be carried out. — Hylian King [*] 16:31, 3 July 2012 (UTC)
What defines a main character is their influence on the plot. All of the major events in the game are tied to one thing: the revival of Demise. If Demise was brought back as a side-effect of Ghirahim's work or he was just a side-thought, Demise would be minor. However, Ghirahim is actively perusing the revival of his master, which he mentioned in his first encounter with Link. Demise is central to the story, and hence he is a major character. — Abdul [T] [C] [S]  16:44, 3 July 2012 (UTC)

Gaepora[]

How is Gaepora considered a main character. He's defintly a supporting character for sure, but you could argue Aryll and Twilight Princess Epona have equal amounts of importents as him, and their listed as minor characters, so why isn't he? Gopherdude12 (talk) 02:13, 10 July 2016 (UTC)

Doesn't matter as the page is going to be reorganized to exclude notions of "main characters". - TonyT S C 02:27, 10 July 2016 (UTC)
