Tal Tal Heights
From Zelda Wiki.org
Tal Tal Heights is The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening's equivalent to Death Mountain in the other games' installations. Located at the northern-most part of the map, Tal Tal Heights is the broad mountain range located on the mystical Koholint Island that Link awakens on upon being washed ashore from a fierce ship wreck. Unlike Death Mountain, Tal Tal Heights contains Turtle Rock on the western-most border, as opposed to Death Mountain's eastern-most location of the lava-filled inferno. This leads some to speculate that perhaps Tal Tal Heights is Link's interpretation of Death Mountain in his dreams (thus the mirrored appearance of it, as opposed to Death Mountain). Along with Turtle Rock, Tal Tal Heights is also the home of the Wind Fish's Egg (atop Mt. Tamaranch), which Link must journey to in hopes of awakening it with the Eight Instruments of the Siren he must collect from each Nightmare during his quest. A remixed version of the Tal Tal Heights background music is available in Super Smash Bros. Brawl.
