Syrup is an old witch who has made several appearances to date. Her name makes up the second part of an in-game joke when combined with the name of her apprentice, Maple (Maple Syrup).

She first appeared in The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past where she owned a potionshop and, after giving her a mushroom, she gave Link the Magic Powder.

In The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening, she lives in a small hut in Koholint Island's Mysterious Forest. She plays a similar role that in the previous game, where after giving her a Sleepy Toadstool she makes Magic Powder and gives you some.

In The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Ages and The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Seasons, she owns a potion shop, and has a granddaughter named Maple.

In The Legend of Zelda: The Minish Cap, she sells Blue Potion in a hut in the Minish Woods. It is also necessary to buy a wake-up-mushroom[1] from her in order to wake up Rem the shoe salesman.

Quote from The Legend of Zelda: The Minish Cap Syrup figurine:

"A wizard who lives in the Minish Woods. She sells magic items with odd powers. She's looking for an apprentice to whom she can teach her mystic spells."
