Swords of Majora's Mask
From Zelda Wiki.org
There are five available swords in Majora's Mask. The Kokiri Sword, Razor Sword, Gilded Sword, Great Fairy's Sword, and Fierce Deity Sword. All are equipped under the B-button, with the exception of the Great Fairy's Sword, which is equipped as a separate item under the C-Buttons and, since it is double-handed, cannot be used in concurrence with a shield.

Kokiri Sword
- Main article: Kokiri Sword
The Kokiri Sword is equipped by default at the beginning of Majora's Mask, and is the same Kokiri blade which Link used in OoT. It is hindered both by a short range and a lack of power, but can be upgraded at the Snowhead Blacksmiths. Though Link begins the game with the Kokiri Sword equipped, he is unable to use it while transformed into a Deku Scrub.
Razor Sword
The Razor Sword is obtained by upgrading the Kokiri Sword at the Snowhead Blacksmiths for 100 rupees. It features a double blade, increased range, and double the strength, though due to its fragile nature it will break after one hundred strikes and become the Kokiri sword once again. It is also impossible to return to the Dawn of the First Day with it, doing so will cause it to revert back to the Kokiri Sword. Because of this, it is relatively useless to upgrade to the Razor Sword unless one intends to upgrade again to the Gilded Sword within the same three-day cycle.
Gilded Sword
Once the Razor Sword is obtained, it is able to be upgraded to the Gilded Sword at the Snowhead Blacksmiths, so long as Link possesses the Gold Dust from the Goron Races and has at least twenty-four hours left in the current three-day cycle, as well as a few minutes extra to receive the upgraded sword and save with the Song of Time. The Gilded sword inflicts three times greater damage than the Kokiri Sword as well as possessing a farther reach. Unlike the Razor Sword, the Gilded Sword does not break after a certain amount of use, and can be saved when playing the Song of Time and returning to the Dawn of the First Day. This is the most powerful sword that can be equipped by an un-masked Link under the B-button.
Great Fairy's Sword
Unlike the Kokiri Sword, Razor Sword, and Gilded Sword, the Great Fairy's Sword is equipped to the C-button as an item. It is a double-handed sword and as such cannot be used in concurrence with a shield. To counter this disadvantage, the Great Fairy's Sword deals four times as much damage as the Kokiri Sword - making it the most physically powerful sword in the game - and it is useful for dealing immense damage during boss-battles. This sword is obtained by collecting the fifteen Stray Fairies in Stone Tower Temple and reuniting them as a Great Fairy. Link can use this sword even if he is jinxed by a Blue Bubble.
Is is difficult to preform a charged spin attack with this sword. To do it, begin to hold the B button and then immediately hold down the button for the Great Fairy's Sword as well. If done correctly, Link will start to charge a spin attack. The magical aura, when charging, will be the size of the normal sword.
Fierce Deity Sword (Double Helix sword)
- Main article: Fierce Deity
When Link equips the Fierce Deity Mask, he manifests the Fierce Deity Sword - a powerful blade that is able to focus Link's magical power into a disk of light and release it during an attack. As well as possessing this useful ability, the Fierce Deity Sword inflicts considerable physical damage--equal to that of the Great Fairy's Sword. If Link strike an enemy while Z-targeting and has any magic remaining, the enemy will take damage both from the sword itself and from the energy blast, for a grand total of eight times the destructive power of the Kokiri Sword. Due to its double helix shape, it is sometimes referred to as the Double Helix Sword or Double Helix Blade.
Weapon Strength Comparison
The strength of the swords of Majora's Mask may best be measured by the amount of normal strikes it takes to kill a full-sized Dodongo. This method can be used to find the strength of almost anything that can be used as a weapon in Majora's Mask. Here is a table of the weapons, the number of hits required, and the weapons' strengths with the Kokiri Sword's being set at one:
| Sword | Hits Required | Strength |
| Kokiri Sword | 12 | 1 |
| Razor Sword | 6 | 2 |
| Gilded Sword | 4 | 3 |
| Great Fairy's Sword | 3 | 4 |
| Fierce Deity Sword | 3 | 4 |
| Energy Disk | 3 | 4 |
| Fierce Deity Sword + Energy Disk | 1.5* | 8 |
| Goron Spikes** | 12 | 1 |
| Goron Pound | 6 | 2 |
| Goron Punch | 4 | 3 |
| Zora Fins | 12 | 1 |
| Bubble Blast | 6 | 2 |
| Bomb | 6 | 2 |
| Bombchu | 6 | 2 |
| Powder Keg | 3*** | 4 |
| Normal/Fire/Ice Arrow | 6 | 2 |
| Light Arrow+ | 1 | N/A |
| Deku Stick | 6 | 2 |
* Determining this value takes logic. If the both the sword and disk cause the same amount of damage, then both of them together will cause twice the damage.
** This is the spikes that Goron Link has when his is using magic while rolling.
*** Determining this value takes logic. First drop a Powder Keg on a Dodongo. It will then take eight hits with the Zora Fins to kill it. This means that the Powder Keg took off four hits worth. Meaning that three Powder Kegs would have killed it.
+ The Light Arrow does not have a fixed strength. It just kills any normal enemy with one hit. It only stuns bosses.
