Swords of Link's Awakening

Link can obtain two swords in Link's Awakening. Although they are only referred to in-game as the level 1 and level 2 swords, here they are referred to as the Sword (level 1) and the Seashell Sword (level 2).
Sword
The Sword is Link's primary weapon from his previous adventure (presumed to be A Link to the Past although this is not entirely clear. See Timeline of Link's Awakening). The Sword washes onto Koholint Island after Link's shipwreck, and his first task after waking up is to reclaim it from amid the wreckage on Toronbo Shores.
Seashell Sword
The Seashell Sword is a more powerful sword, obtained from Seashell Mansion after Link finds 20 or more Secret Seashells. When Link is on full health, this sword can be used to perform the Sword Beam, making it similar to the Master Sword from earlier 2D Zelda games. The beams produced by this move resemble the sword, although they act in the same way as arrows in the same game. This sword might also be the "dream" version of the Master Sword, as it has a similar handle, and "winged" guard.
