Sword & Shield Maze, also known as the Sword & Shield Dungeon, is the eighth and final dungeon in Oracle of Seasons. It is also the only dungeon located in Subrosia. It gets its name for the layout of the dungeon; 1F is shaped like a shield and B1F is shaped like a sword. The mini-boss is Frypolar, which can only be defeated with the Hyper Slingshot. After defeating the boss, Medusa Head, the final Essence of Nature, the Changing Seasons, will be rewarded to Link.
The Maku Tree is unable to detect the presence of the final essence in this dungeon and as such, there are no clues on the location of this dungeon. Link must use his detective skills and see which areas he hasn't already visited to find the dungeon. The reason the Maku Tree cannot detect the essence may be due to the dungeon being within Subrosia, rather than in Holodrum.
