Background

In The Legend of Zelda: The Fallen Sage, it is explained that Sulkaris was created by the Goddesses Din, Nayru, and Farore with six other sages to safeguard the Triforce from mortal hands. She was the first of the Sages to exist, and is the oldest being other then the Goddesses in Hylian lore. Sulkaris eventually decided her job unfit for her existence, and attempted to steal the Triforce for herself. The other Sages fought against her and stopped her, ripping her soul from her body and casting it from the Sacred Realm and into the mortal world. Sulkaris wandered about the mortal world, possessing a giant Gohma and gaining control over the armies that followed it. She wrecked havoc across Hyrule and its neighboring countries until she was stopped by the present day Sages and sealed within Palagard's Sanctuary, a keep from which the Emerald Sage could keep watch over the imprisoned Sulkaris.

Sulkaris remains sealed for most of the game until she is realeased by Link and Saria. It was discovered that she was using Evaleen, the Sage of Shadow to manipulate General Akazoo Vapith of Hyrule into luring Link to Palagard's Sanctuary. Once Link killed Sulkaris' guardians she was free to break from her prison and escape back into the mortal world. Still a spirit without a body, Sulkaris uses Akazoo to summon forth a portal to the Sacred Realm on top of Hyrule Castle, where she awaits for Link's arrival. After Link slays Akazoo, he enters the Sacred Realm, only to watch Sulkaris cosume Saria and become mortal again. Sulkaris, now with a restored physical body, is free to touch the Triforce. Link manages to stop her however, and kill her before she touches the Triforce. In her dying breath, Sulkaris manages to grasp the Triforce and wish for Link and Saria to die with her. The Sacred Realm begins to collapse, but Saria uses what life is left in her and transports Link out before the dimension collapses.

Free of her prison, Sulkaris orders Akazoo to open a portal to the Sacred Realm where she will confront Link and claim the Triforce .

After a year passes within the game and Link has recovered three Triforce shards to rescue Saria from the collapsed Sacred Realm, it is revealed that Sulkaris survived as well and she unknowingly escapes with Saria. Towards the game's end Sulkaris shows herself, possesing Saria and forcing her to fight Link. Against his will, Link kills Saria and Sulkaris within her. It is presumed Sulkaris is finally dead.

At the game's climax, Sulkaris appears with Saria in her grip, taunting Link for aiding her in becoming a god. Sulkaris reveals her plot: When she failed to touch the Triforce she wished for another way to become a god. Using knowledge gained from Akazoo, Sulkaris uses the Heart of Palagard, the remains of dead Gohma, and the flesh of Saria to evolve into the "God of Gohma." However, she commits the ritual too early, and prematurly transforms into a weakened version of the Gohma God. A fight follows, and after Hyrule's mortar cannon is ready Liyer orders it to fire, blowing Sulkaris' new arachnid form into atoms. From the remains Sulkaris is reformed into the God of Gohma, a giant amorphous ooze characterized by a giant Gohma eye. Link eventually slays her with his blade and her spirit is completely destroyed.

Battle Music

Sulkaris's theme song, which is played during her final boss fight, is a remix of the song 'Gothix' by the orchestral recording studio 'X-Ray Dog.' It contains the same instumentals as the original peice, but rerecorded lyrics pertaining to Sulkaris.
