The Stinger is a manta ray-like monster in Ocarina of Time that inhabits aquatic environments, primarily in Jabu Jabu's Belly and the Water Temple. Stingers, who generally travel in packs, scour below the soil of their domain keeping them from harm and allowing them to sense seismic disruptions nearby. When such a disruption is heard, the Stinger will launch itself in the air and float around its enemy. Since the Stinger is so wary of its enemy, it usually stays a long range from its opponent, and thus can only be easily killed with items such as the Hookshot and Boomerang.
