The Shadow Kargarok Rider appears when Link first travels to Lake Hylia in Twilight Princess. Fyer believes it was a customer at first, but then realizes it as a "monster". The Bulblin nearby on the lakebed then uses a patch of Hawk Grass to summon a Shadow Kargarok, which it then mounts.

Strategy

To attack, Link must wait until the bird gets close to the ground and then jump on it. Upon doing so, he then proceeds to rapidly bite the rider. As the pattern is repeated the necessary times, the young hero must also take care to dodge the Fire Arrows from the rider until next time the bird tries to attack him with a closer attack. When the rider falls on the ground, Link battles it with physical attacks. With the rider being dead, Midna will take control of the bird so that she and Link can fly to Zora's Domain.
