Series of Tubes
From Zelda Wiki.org
Launched in July of 2007, the Series of Tubes is a subforum of the VGRC forums that advocates itself as "no rules."
Initially started off as "Serious Business," a jab at the Zelda Universe board of the same name. It was formed as an answer to place bad topics for the community to destroy without having to invoke moderators coming in to lock and ban. Eventually the name was changed to the "Series of Tubes," as a nod to Alaskan Senator Ted Stevens.
The Series of Tubes board is the only board on VGRC where members are allowed to spam, troll and openly flame each other. While to the outside viewer it may be seen as something that would be counter-productive to any community, it serves the benefit of keeping that sort of stuff out of the rest of the boards on VGRC.
Due to the nature of some of the topics in the Series of Tubes board (including white supremacist ranting and the calling for invasions of other forums) it was closed to guest viewing in December 2007 so search engine spiders wouldn't pick it up. To view the board, one has to be a registered member of VGRC. A disclaimer is also stickied in the board, with members being told to only enter it "at their own risk."
The Tuesday Travesty
Popular in the fall of 2007 was the Tuesday Travesty, when every Tuesday VGRC admins would demolish the Tubes' forum skin, often embedding seizure inducing images and annoying music. An archive of some of these can be found here
