Features
In some of The Legend of Zelda games, caves are dark and Link must use a Lantern or a Candle to see his way. Sometimes, something as good as a Piece of Heart is in a cave, other times there is nothing but Rupees. The concept cave is present in some form in many, if not all, Zelda games.
Appearances
Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask
In Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask, caves are known as Secret Grottos. A Secret Grotto, or simply Grotto, is a secret cave or cavern found in the world of Hyrule that is sealed either by earth or an enchantment that can sometimes respond to the power of music. In Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask, the Stone of Agony will rumble whenever a secret grotto is nearby.
Twilight Princess
In Twilight Princess, the caves are not specifically called anything, and digging as Wolf Link is required to enter. Some of the larger caves are known as Lantern Caverns. Link does not have to be a Wolf to enter these caves. There are three of these caves in the game. One is in the Faron Woods, and is just a pathway. The webs in this cave are one-time only, meaning that, once burned away, they will not reappear. Any Torches lit will stay lit. Traveling through this cavern is mandatory. The other two caverns are optional.
