Essences of Time

The Essences of Time are the eight relics that Link must obtain to help the Maku Tree and save Nayru. Each one is hidden in one of the puzzle- and enemy-filled dungeons spread across Labrynna. When Link obtains all eight Essences, the Maku Tree gives him a special seed called the Huge Maku Seed needed to enter Black Tower and defeat the evil Veran.

Eternal Spirit

• Location: Spirit's Grave
• Guardian: Pumpkin Head
• Description: "Even after life ends, it speaks across time to the heart."

Ancient Wood

• Location: Wing Dungeon
• Guardian: Head Thwomp
• Description: "It whispers only truth to closed ears from out of the stillness."

Echoing Howl

• Location: Moonlit Grotto
• Guardian: Shadow Hag
• Description: "It echoes far across the plains to speak to insolent hearts."

Burning Flame

• Location: Skull Dungeon
• Guardian: Eyesoar
• Description: "It reignites wavering hearts with a hero's burning passion."

Sacred Soil

• Location: Crown Dungeon
• Guardian: Smog
• Description: "All that lies sleeping in the bosom of the earth will know the nourishing warmth of the Sacred Soil."

Lonely Peak

• Location: Mermaid's Cave
• Guardian: Octogon
• Description: "It is a proud, lonely spirit that remains stalwart, even in trying times."

Rolling Sea

• Location: Jabu Jabu's Belly
• Guardian: Plasmarine
• Description: "The mystical song of the sea roars into a crashing wave that sweeps heroes out into adventure."

Falling Star

• Location: Ancient Tomb
• Guardian: Ramrock
• Description: "The eternal light of this heavenly body acts as guide to the other essences."
