Pumpkin Head (ハーロン, Haaron) was a spirit entity who guarded the first Essence of Time in the dreary Spirit's Grave in Oracle of Ages. Pumpkin Head was the first big real threat Link encountered in collecting the essences, but the method of defeating the spirit was quite simple. As its name implied, Pumpkin Head had an invulnerable pumpkin as a "head" and a vulnerable torso and legs. Link swiped at the vulnerable spots, eventually causing the "body" to disappear, leaving only the pumpkin on the ground. After throwing the "head" with his Power Bracelets, Link found out that the pumpkin was actually a host for a small glowing spirit that flew around the room, intent on killing Link for disrupting its protective shell. Link managed to kill the spectre with a few slashes from his sword.
