The Postman's Hat is a hat obtained in Majora's Mask. The wearer can use the authority that comes with the mask to check inside mailboxes. The first time Link does this he will find a Piece of Heart; nothing but green rupees afterwards.
Obtaining the Mask
You can obtain this symbol of service from the Postman after you get him to deliver Kafei's Letter to Madame Aroma. The Postman will give the Postman's Hat to you, and ask for permission to leave Termina. Say "Yes", and the Postman will run off, leaving you to your important deliveries.
