Mikau is a character in Majora's Mask. A member of the famous Zora band The Indigo-Go's, he is the lead guitarist for the band and is also a Zoran hero.[1] Japas and him often compose songs of their own, much to Evan's chagrin.[2][3] He also has close relationship with the band's lead singer, Lulu.[4]
Biography
After Mikau found out that Lulu's Zora Eggs were stolen by the Gerudo Pirates, Evan charges Mikau with the task of retrieving the eggs since they are the only way to recover Lulu's voice in time for their upcoming performance at the Carnival of Time.[5] Before heading to the Pirates' Fortress, Evan informed him where to obtain empty bottles to store the Zora Eggs; thus, Mikau went to the Waterfall Rapids to race the Beaver Brothers, but was unable to receive a bottle from them.[6][7]
Mikau proceeded to infiltrate the Pirates' Fortress, but did not succeed in retrieving the eggs and ended up floating in the Great Bay nearly dead from the injuries he received. Link rescues him and drags him to shore, where he plays a last song which pleads that Link help get Lulu's voice back by retrieving her eggs.[8] After playing the "Song of Healing" for Mikau, his soul is trapped within the Zora Mask. Wearing it allows Link to assume the form of Mikau and pose as the famous guitar player. His spirit appears briefly thereafter to sing Link two final songs to be carved on his grave, We the Zora[9] and Zora Fight Song.[10][11]
Mikau's guitar is placed right next to the entrance to Great Bay Coast, serving as the resting place of the young guitarist.[12]
