Malgyorgs are shark-like, sand dwelling enemies appearing in Spirit Tracks.
Characteristics and Weaknesses
Malgyorgs are encountered in the Sand Realm, but they appear most frequently in the immediate area surrounding the Sand Sanctuary. They look identical to Gyorgs from The Wind Waker and Phantom Hourglass, but are different in color. They are capable of swimming through sand, often in groups of three, homing in and attempting to heave themselves upon the Spirit Train. Though they may seem intimidating at first, Malgyorgs can be simply defeated with one carefully aimed shot from the Cannon. Because they only appear while Link is roaming the overworld on the Spirit Tracks, the Cannon is the only weapon capable of defeating them.
Blowing the train's whistle expedites the Malgyorg's jump, making it easier to target and defeat the foe, without the element of surprise in respect to the Malgyorg's ambush-like nature. Malgyorgs' method of attack is the same as regular Gyorgs' in Phantom Hourglass, ganging up on Link in groups of three while leaping and charging at different times.
