8 Video Game Bugs That Made The Game Better (ZeldaInformer)

Gotta love humping a dog house to fall into an extra level where it appears you're really, really high. This beauty, which is a bug in Link's Awakening, fell in at number two on Spike TV's Top 8 Video Game Bugs that Made the Game Better. Be sure to check out the full list here.

Spirit Tracks: Nintendo Power Scans (Zelda Dungeon)

Thanks to DSCUBED of The Hylia we now have scans of the latest issue of Nintendo Power, which have several pages dedicated to the upcoming Legend of Zelda Spirit Tracks. You can click each of the images below to view a larger image. While there are some things that can be considered spoilers, there isn't too much information that we don't already know.

Zelda Eternity: New layout, Now Hiring (Zelda Dungeon)

Zelda Eternity
I haven't posted a community roundup in quite some time here at Zelda Dungeon. While it use to be a monthly roundabout of what has been going on in the Zelda Community, it came to a sudden halt about six months back. With Zelda fan site giant Zelda Universe having a resurgence in the past year as the leader of the online Zelda Community and ZeldaInformer quickly closing that gap, I've lost faith in some of the smaller, lesser known websites that I always used to cling too.

However, after doing my rounds of the community several days back, I came across one of our affiliate websites, Zelda Eternity and what I think is a beautiful new layout. I think Zelda Eternity represents everything that the Zelda fan site community represented just a short while ago, but has been moving away from that in recent times. It has a graphically intense layout with nice fan artwork for the header and a somewhat gloomy green color scheme that really seems to fit. I really see a lot of Zelda Dungeon from 3-4 years ago when I look at Zelda Eternity.

Zelda Eternity is looking for new staff members. Here at Zelda Dungeon we have had the 'now hiring' button up for quite some time, but we have hired just one new staff member in the past seven months. In fact, I have about three dozen staff member applications backlogged in my inbox from the past two months that I have never gotten back to. While we are still interested in staff members, the criteria has changed quite a bit and we need to update that page. However if you are interested in helping out at a Zelda fan website by writing some content or some news articles, then head on over to Zelda Eternity and send in your applications!

  • November 14th, 2009 - Community Content: Our Community content has recently been moved to its own, newly created namespace (indicated by the "Community:" prefix). This will allow the Community pages to be expanded and improved in future, while keeping them separate from normal in-game content in the Main namespace.
  • November 4th, 2009 - New Wiki Exclusive Article: Many years after the feature was first launched, we're revisiting the Wiki Exclusives with the addition of a new article! We proudly present Trinity of Truth, by our very own Brent McBride (Cipriano 119).
  • October 24th, 2009 - Capitalized File Extensions: Over the past few days, all of the files which had capitalized extensions (.PNG, .GIF, .JPG etc:) have been moved so that they all have lowercase extensions (.png, .gif, .jpg etc:). When uploading files in the future, please remember to upload them with lowercase file extensions.
  • September 30th, 2009 - Thumbnail Issues Fixed: The thumbnail issue was rooted in ImageMagick, our image processing software. Until ImageMagick fixes its issues, we've switched to GD, an alternative image processor. It works just as well (and actually works), so we'll be sticking with it until ImageMagick gets its act together.

Current Wiki Exclusive

Trinity of Truth - wiki editor Brent McBride (Cipriano 119) expresses his take on what he calls the "Trinity of Truth" (the Lens of Truth, Stone of Agony, and Mask of Truth). An informative and well-written piece, this article is an original twist on some of the more mysterious items from one of the greatest games of all time.

The Golden Goddesses are Din, the Goddess of Power, Nayru, the Goddess of Wisdom, and Farore, the Goddess of Courage, the chief gods and creators of Hyrule. It is understood that the Golden Goddesses have always existed, and that they are omnipotent and eternal. Though the Golden Goddesses are the most important gods of Hyrule, they are rarely mentioned by characters in the games, and most races worship their own patron deities. (more...)
