From Zelda Wiki, the Zelda encyclopedia
Lobarriers are crab-like enemies found in Spirit Tracks. They inhabit the upper section of the Ocean Sanctuary and the lower section of Papuchia Village.
A Lobarrier will only move side to side while its massive stone claw is still attached and capable of reaching out to swipe at Link, at close range. They use their impenetrable claw to block frontal attacks. However, they can be outsmarted in two different ways. The first way is to use the boomerang. By tossing it around the Lobarrier and whacking it from behind, Link can stun it and then finish it off with his sword. The second way involves the whip to remove the large claw to make the Lobarrier vulnerable. With the claw removed, the Lobarrier generally flees Link's sword range.
Trivia
- Lobarriers are known as Pīsu in Japan, the same name as Sand Crabs.
