Occasionally, someone new to the Internet world will stumble along and be dazed and confused by the strange IMing talk used when messaging other people. Those you have recently downloaded ICQ, AIM, YIM or MSN will still be translating the confusing terms such as WTF, OMG etc.

So, in order to help these poor souls and fully spread the knowledge of IMing talk and chat, here is a list of easy to learn acronyms for n00bish internet chatters.

A widely held view is that these are unnecessary and make you seem like an imbecile, when overused. Typing in mostly correct english will get your message across more effectively and be more respected. Proper english is also easier to read, and makes it seem that you are putting some effort into the conversation.

WT[F/H]- What the fuck/hell
OMG- Oh my god
zOMG- Variaton of OMG, pronounced 'zo-my-god.' The 'z' in zOMG remains a    
mystery
ST[F/H]U- Shut the fuck/hell up
TTYL- Talk to you later
LOL- Laughing out loud
ROFL- Rolling on the floor laughing
ROFLOL- Rolling on the floor laughing out loud
LMAO- Laughing my arse/ass off
BBL- Be back later
G2G- Got to go
BRB- Be right back
AFK- Away from Keyboard
GG- Good game
IIRC- If I remember correctly
IMO- In my opinion
IMHO- In my humble opinion
IMVHO- In my very humble opinion
IMNVHO- In my not very humble opinion (you get the idea; there's loads of variations)
LYLAB/LYLAS- Love you like a bro/sis (rarely used if at all - who made this up?)
AFAIK- As far as I know
WUD- What you (u) doing (Invented by Jimcando to see if he could invent one)
