Located in central Hyrule, the Great Palace was the final palace visited by Link after he managed to unseal it by visiting the other Palaces and placing shards of the Magic Crystal in the heads of statues there. It houses the Triforce of Courage which he needs to rouse Princess Zelda from her unnatural slumber. Within the Palace walls, Link defeats Thunderbird and Dark Link.
It lies after a grueling gauntlet of caves and enemy ambushes that make even reaching the palace a challenge.
