Frypolar if a flame/ice spirit that serves as the mini-boss of the Sword & Shield Maze in Oracle of Seasons.
By hitting its flaming body with Mystery Seeds, Frypolar reverts to its ice state. Link can then plummet it with Ember Seeds, repeating the process until defeating it completely. While in its fire state, Frypolar can summon rings of flames to harass enemies, and when in ice form, the spirit is capable of summoning icicles out of the ground to impale foes. Link could also defeat him in his fire form by shooting his ice form's ice crystals with Mystery Seeds, then hitting Frypolar with Mystery Seeds. The young hero could then use his Power Bracelet to pick up an ice crystal and throw it at Frypolar.
Trivia
- Frypolar's name is a play on the word "bipolar," a reference to its dual elemental nature. "Fry" relates to fire, and "polar" relates to ice.
- Its fire element may also be loosely based on FryGuy, a boss from Super Mario Bros. 2.
- Likewise, its Japanese name, ファイス (Fice), is a portmanteau of ファイア (Fire) and アイス (Ice).
