All of these apples disappear rather quickly, however. The blocks at each end of the stage will fall in between the gaps on the sides of the stage and stack up. Often, bomb blocks will fall among the stack. They never detonate by themselves, but if you hit them they explode with a powerful blast.
Green Hill Zone
Green Hill Zone is based on the level of the same name in the 1991 Sega Genesis game, Sonic the Hedgehog. The stage is unlocked when Sonic is unlocked.Although not playable, some of Sonic's friends also make an appearance on this stage. There is Miles "Tails" Prower, Knuckles the Echidna and Silver the Hedgehog who are all found to be running in the background around the Shuttle Loop, though they have no effect on any brawls being played. Mario Bros.
Mario Bros. is a stage in Super Smash Bros. Brawl based on the arcade game of the same name. It is a near-perfect replica of the early stages of the game, with the only deviation being the removal of a POW Block. Enemies from the game, including Sidesteppers and Shellcreepers, can be flipped over and thrown at enemies. The presence of other enemies from the game has not been confirmed.
Pirate Ship
The Pirate Ship stage appears in Super Smash Bros. Brawl when you unlock Toon Link. It is a very basic reproduction of Tetra's ship from The Wind Waker and Phantom Hourglass. It floats along the Great Sea, where many obstacles are found. One of these obstacles include a cyclone that comes along and sweeps the ship up high into the sky. Another obstacle you can face is when the ship slams into a reef and turns at about an 80 degree angle. You can hop off the ship and fight on the reef, but you must make sure you get back on when it gets unstuck. The catapult on the ship, will rise and sling you off the stage or you will come very close to. Some times pirates in the background will shoot the ship with bombs dealing roughly 30%-35%. If you fall off in front of the ship and end up under it, it will result in an instant KO Often the King of Red Lions from will sail in front the right side of the stage. You can get on him, but he will sail away shortly after. If you look on the horizon, you can see various islands from The Wind Waker and see empty bottles floating on the surface every once in a while.

- Dialga, who manipulates time. This allows it to slow down the players and slightly tilt the stage, and occasionally use its signature move, Roar of Time.
- Palkia, who manipulates space, and is considered to be the most difficult Pokémon to adjust to effects of. Its space-manipulation power allows it to rotate the stage until it's upside down, or mirror the stage so that left becomes right and vice versa. It also uses its signature move, Spacial Rend, in the same way that Dialga does.
- Cresselia is a crescent-shaped Pokémon, and as such fires crescent-shaped beams at players, sometimes having one of the crescents glide around the stage much like a boomerang.
- Uxie, Mesprit, and Azelf also appear in the background, however, they have no effect on the battle.
