A Fire Eye[1] is a rare trap that appears in Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask.
Characteristics and Weaknesses
The Fire Eye looks like a normal silver Eye Switch. However, it remains closed until Link draws near, at which point the eye will open and shoot a fireball that slowly chases Link once it touches the ground. The fireball is extremely persistent but can be deflected using a shield. In Ocarina of Time it only appears once in the Shadow Temple, but they are more common in the Master Quest version.
In Majora's Mask, a Fire Eye appears Beneath the Well and unleashes a prolonged flame when Link is too close, which cannot be defended against using a shield. In both appearances however, an arrow shot when the eye is open is enough to defeat them.
