Eye Reefs

The Eye Reefs are minor islands in The Wind Waker that are located on various areas of the Great Sea and are uninhabited by civilizations, but guard charts leading to special maps. Each reef has a set of wall-mounted cannons that can be destroyed with Link's own cannon. When all of the cannons are destroyed, a treasure chest containing a treasure chart will appear on one of the large structures representing the eyes of a die.

None of the reefs' boats and cannons appear until Link defeats Helmaroc King in Forsaken Fortress, so it is not recommended to visit any of these reefs before that moment.

The Eye Reefs, in particular Three-Eye Reef appear to be inspired by and named after Three-Eye Rock from The Adventure of Link.

Cyclops Reef is a square reef located west from the Tower of the Gods. It has one round reef in the center, resembling a six-sided die, hence the name. Link must destroy all the gun turrets in this reef to obtain a Treasure Chart which reveals where to find the Light Ring Chart. Surprisingly, the chart's treasure is in this very place (although Link needs to open the chart first to collect the treasure). The coordinates of this reef are D3, and it is a neighbor of Six-Eye Reef.

Located east from Headstone Island, the Two-Eye Reef features two round reefs in the center, resembling one side of a six-sided die. If all the gun boats and gun turrets are destroyed, a Treasure Chart that leads to the Secret Cave Chart will appear. The coordinates of this reef are G4.

A Great Fairy (violet colored) can be found on the outskirts of the reef. A cannon is used to kill the Big Octo. Once the Octo is vanquished, the Great Fairy will appear, thanking Link by doubling his Magic Meter.

Once Link has the proper Triforce Chart, he will be able to retrieve a Triforce Shard from the bottom of the sea.

Located at the very center of the Great Sea, the Six-Eye Reef consists of one large square reef and six smaller circular reefs within it, resembling a six-sided die. Eliminating all the gun turrets will make a Treasure Chart appear, which ultimately leads to the Octo Chart. The coordinates of this reef are D4, directly to the east of Cyclops Reef. A submarine can be visited in the vicine waters, Link finds there a Piece of Heart after defeating three Moblins.
