Characteristics and Weaknesses
Debirando are giant, burrowing insects with large snapping pincers that live in desert regions. They create sinkholes in the sand as they burrow underneath, drawing in their prey. Red Debirandos are also able to spit fireballs over a long distance. If Link gets caught in the sinkhole, it is virtually impossible to escape, so the young hero will have to fight the Debirando up close while it attempts to seize him with its claws. They are not particularly strong, but they can cause a lot of damage if Link gets caught in the sand trap. Like many desert enemies, they are especially weak to the Ice Rod.
- Debirandos are named as Moldorms in the official Shogakukan guide for Four Swords Adventures. Other enemies also have their names changed around strangely, such as Leevers being known as Peahats and Ghinis as Poes.
- The behavior of Molgera when submerged in the sand is very similar to that of a Debirando, but on a much larger scale.
- ↑ "砂の中から現われて火を吐く。見た目はアリジゴク、接近すると引き込まれるところなどは、まさにそれである。" (The Legend of Zelda: Triforce of the Gods Official Nintendo Guidebook Over (Shogakukan), pg. 130)
