Whoever reads this, please enter my grave. I will let you have my stretching, shrinking keepsake. I'm waiting for you.

Dampé's Diary

In Ocarina of Time, Dampé's Diary is found in Dampé's house in the Kakariko Graveyard and is the only interactive object inside.

Young Link can only read it at night while Dampe is in the graveyard digging. The text in the diary differs depending on whether it is read by young Link or adult Link. As young Link, the diary only mentions how Dampé found a treasure that stretches and goes "boing!"

After Link's retrieval of the Master Sword and during his seven year absence, Dampé the Gravekeeper dies of unknown causes. His shed at the entrance of the graveyard is now open for Link to go inside freely. Inside the shed is Dampé's Diary, with an entry that prompts the reader to seek out his grave and enter it, whereupon he will let them have his supposed treasure.
