General Information
His cave abode is built into the Crenel Wall section of the mountain. Upon meeting Link, he notes that specific patterned walls about the face of Mount Crenel are susceptible to bomb explosions,[2] yielding secret passageways that ultimately hide Rupees and Pieces of Heart, among other rewards. The young hero may figure out the secret of these walls without consulting the Hermit, however, making this meeting entirely inconsequential to the plot of The Minish Cap, either way.
Link can also fuse Kinstones with him.[3]

- Crenel Hermit resembles the Carpet Merchant from Ocarina of Time and the Swordsman from Majora's Mask, which may suggest a connection considering his sword-fighting abilities at the festival tournament in his younger days.
- When Link is not talking to him, he is daydreaming about Rupees.
