Cheval

Cheval is an old inventor, appearing in Oracle of Ages. Cheval lived south of Lynna Village in the past. He is met once by Link on his journey, when Link was searching for Cheval's Rope. At the time, Cheval had not finished his rope, and was optimistic that he would finish it before his death. His goal was "a rope that won't deteriorate when wet".

Cheval was correct, and he did manage to finish it before his death, as well as a swimming aid, the Zora's Flippers. When Cheval died, a pair of Zora's Flippers and a coil of Cheval's Rope were buried with him in Cheval's Tomb. With these inventions, Cheval was a huge help to Link, who couldn't swim without the flippers, or reach Crescent Island without the rope.
