Biography
Prior to the events of the Oracle games, Queen Ambi fell in love with a sea-faring man, the Captain, who was the leader of a band of pirates.[1] However, he set sail one day and never came back, which prompted Queen Ambi to begin a project that would guide the Captain home from his lost adventure: to construct an immense tower that would be tall enough so that it could see out all across the land and act as a large beacon that would guide the Captain to Labrynna. Unbeknown to Queen Ambi, Captain originally vanished in Ambi's time because he and his crew got trapped in the Sea of Storms in the course of his exploration and could not get out.[2]
In a Linked Oracle of Seasons, the storyline brought up but never completed in Oracle of Ages of Queen Ambi's long lost lover is concluded. After clearing the Ancient Ruins, Queen Ambi will be at the Samasa Desert entrance, sent there by Nayru at the queen's request.[3] Ambi ends up meeting up again with the Captain, and although he says he wished he could stay,[4] Ambi interrupts him and tells him she understands why he must leave her side again: he is a seafaring man and cannot live his life on land. Before departing ways again, Ambi promises the Captain that she will always be waiting for his return.[5]
Appearances
Oracle of Ages
In Oracle of Ages, the Captain appears trapped in a large ring of whirlpools within the Sea of Storms in the past,[6] accessible after the seventh dungeon. The Captain is able to escape the sea once Link gives him the Zora Scale he obtained recently, which is a powerful charm capable of calming the seas.[7] The Captain declares he and his crew are off to Holodrum.[8] Before leaving, he gives Link the Tokay Eyeball as a sign of his thanks.[9]
Oracle of Seasons
In Oracle of Seasons, the Captain's ship has become trapped in Samasa Desert, and the crew is in Subrosia (residing in the House of Pirates). The Captain also loses his bell; he sends some members of his crew to search for it,[10] refusing to budge until it is found.[11] Once Link completes the Ancient Ruins, the Captain deems the young hero to be a competent adventurer and asks him to help search for the bell.[12] Once Link finds and fixes the bell, the crew manages to free the ship and sets sail once more, only to be overcome with seasickness,[13] stopping on the beach west of Horon Village.
Oracle of Ages Manga
| Non-Canon Information | hide |
In the Oracle of Ages manga, the Captain is the individual who tells Link and Ralph of Veran's weakness. While he was alive, he served as a knight under Queen Ambi, and later became her lover. Soon after meeting Link he set sail for Labrynna, but was caught in a storm.
Theory

It is theorized by many fans that Captain Stalfos from Freshly-Picked Tingle's Rosy Rupeeland is the same captain, or related in some way as they both command a similar crew of Stalfos Pirates.
