Cane of Somaria

In A Link to the Past, the Cane of Somaria is a red rod which creates a small block that Link can pick up, throw, push, or pull. It is also important in Turtle Rock, where it can create large platforms for Link to use. It is the prize of Misery Mire.

In Oracle of Ages, the Cane of Somaria plays a very similar role, albeit without the use of magic power as in its A Link to the Past counterpart. It is the primary treasure of Level 5, Crown Dungeon. Unlike A Link to the Past, the block created can not be detonated.

In Four Swords Adventures, the upgrade to the Fire Rod makes it act like the Cane of Somaria.

Trivia

In its first appearance, the Cane of Somaria required magic to work, but in its second it did not.
