A Bomb Flower is an explosive plant variety that grows on and around Death Mountain in Ocarina of Time and later on Dragon Roost Island in The Wind Waker, though they can occasionally be found elsewhere. Once picked, a Bomb Flower will detonate after a few seconds, and serve as an early replacement for bombs. They are also found in Four Swords Adventures and in Phantom Hourglass in such places as Cannon Island.

The Gorons, calling the flowers their "special crop", have an affinity for cultivating them and look forward to each yearly harvest. As a child, Link did not have the strength to pick up the flowers until the chief of the Gorons, Darunia, granted him a pair of Goron Bracelets to aid him in his quest for the three Spiritual Stones.

Bomb Flowers immediately detonate when caught in an explosion, are lit on fire, or in the case of The Wind Waker, if they are struck by a weapon. Bomb flowers in The Wind Waker and Phantom Hourglass seem to be much more fragile than their Ocarina of Time counterpart, as Link does not need the Goron Bracelet or any other assistance to pick them up, and they can be detonated by being hit with just about anything.

A Bomb Flower also appears in Oracle of Seasons. It is found in Subrosia and is used to blow a way into the Tower of Autumn. One also appears in Oracle of Ages and is used to free the Goron elder.
