Partway through a password-linked game of Oracle of Ages, the player can find Impa in Black Tower. Through the process of playing a minigame oddly similar to Donkey Kong and rescuing Princess Zelda from Vire, Link can earn the Blue Joy Ring.

When Link wears this Magic Ring, the amount of Recovery Hearts earned from defeated enemies is doubled. While this effect is useful, the Gold Joy Ring can do the same and more.
