Barba was the guardian of Three Eye Rock Palace, where Link recovered one of the six Magic Crystal shards necessary to rouse Princess Zelda from her unnatural slumber. It breathed fireballs at Link. However, it could be beaten if Link used the Jump Spell when it came out of it's lava and struck it in the head.
Volvagia
The name Barba is a mistranslation of "Barubajia", and was corrected in the rerelease of The Adventure of Link. This monster also appears as the boss of the Fire Temple in Ocarina of Time, correctly named Volvagia.
